Talking Endo with Tap. - Emma's Story Part 1 & 2

In this episode, we sit down with Emma. At just 19 years old, she has developed remarkable emotional maturity and a powerful ability to advocate for herself. She learned these skills the hard way... through years of living with pelvic pain, searching for answers, and navigating a healthcare journey that has often been anything but straightforward.

We talk about:

  • What good support really looks like in action
  • Unlearning "good girl" behaviour and learning to advocate for yourself
  • Trusting yourself when you're searching for answers
  • Living with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)
  • Hearing the words, "We didn't find endometriosis" after surgery

Emma joins us in two parts: before and after her exploratory laparoscopy. Together, we process in real time what it feels like to be told that endometriosis is unlikely to be the explanation for her pain. What remains unchanged is Emma's reality.

We chat living with chronic pelvic pain and the daily strategies she uses to manage symptoms, navigate uncertainty, and continue showing up for herself.

This conversation is a reminder that pelvic pain is complex, and there is rarely a simple or one-size-fits-all answer. Our diagnoses may differ, our journeys may look different, but the courage required to keep searching for answers is something many of us share.

If you're navigating endometriosis, pelvic pain, or a diagnosis that still doesn't explain everything, you're not alone 🤍
