Which sticky pads should I choose?

Choosing pads depends on use, preference and trial and error. Each Tap 2.0 kit comes with 3 pad selections so you can test out which are right for you.

  • Butterfly pad: great for lower back or front pelvic placement
  • Discreet pad: ideal for everyday wear under clothing
  • Small round electrodes: best for targeted areas or customised placement such as TTNS. Also great for placing under curvy tummies if a singular pad does not fit flush.

  • XL Butterfly: great for back pain or larger targeted relief

Many users keep spare pads on hand, especially if using Tap regularly or during flare-ups.

If you’re unsure which pads are right for you, or how often you should replace them, our NZ-based support team is always happy to help — just email hello@taphealth.nz 🤍

Are Tap. pads suitable for all body types?

Our replacement pads have been designed specifically to suit all body types and most areas of TENS approved use. That's why we offer a large range!

All bodies are beautiful and deserve relief.

Bigger bodies and curvy tummies may opt to reach for the small round electrodes for lower abdomen use to reduce pad folding.

Tap. replacement pads are medical-grade and non-latex however if you know you are allergic to something specific, reach out to see if our pads are right for you.

Where do I place the pads?

A general rule of thumb is to place your pads where you experience pain when you experience pain.

You can use one singular pad or a combination of singular pad and electrodes.

There are some specific placements that could be helpful for your pain relief:

-Sacral area (lower back)

-Lower abdomen

-Mid-thoracic (mid back/bra line)

-Tibial nerve (TTNS- prescribed by your physio)

-Your pelvic care specialist may reccommend another placement based on your treatment plan.

A few extra tips to keep in mind:

  • Make sure your skin is clean and dry before placing pads
  • Reapply the clear film to the pads after use to protect the adhesive
  • The butterfly or discreet pad is a good all-rounder, especially for first-time users
  • If you feel a stinging or pinching sensation, lower the intensity or reposition the pad

Care & Use

Our replacement pads are medical-grade, reusable, and designed to work safely and effectively with Tap 2.0 when cared for properly.

How long do pads last?

Replacement pads typically last 20–40 uses, depending on:

  • Skin type
  • Placement area
  • Frequency of use
  • How well they’re cared for

If a pad no longer sticks well, feels uncomfortable, or doesn’t deliver stimulation evenly, it’s time to replace it.

How to care for your pads

Proper care extends pad life and comfort:

  • Apply pads to clean, dry skin only (no oils, lotions, or creams)
  • After use, gently place pads back onto the clear plastic backing
  • Store flat, away from heat and direct sunlight
  • If pads collect lint, you can lightly rinse with water, air dry, and reapply to the backing (do not scrub or use soap)

Safety & comfort notes

  • Pads are for external use on skin only
  • Do not use on broken, irritated, or infected skin
  • Mild redness after use is normal and should fade quickly
  • Stop use if you experience discomfort and contact our support team if unsure
